Assignment for modern art. Graffiti art movement.
Recently,
there is a new group of Malaysia’s citizen organized ‘Save Malaysia , Stop
Lynas’ campaign to against the building of
Lynas Corporation , a rare Earth mining company at Kuantan in Malaysia. It will
generate some by-product like dangerous acid and radioactive waste. And that is
why people concern and worried the radioactive will leak out and cause a major
radiation and some other dangerous disease. Our government has approved and
accepted this project with the Australian. It started building somewhere in
Kuantan now and that is why rally group being more and more all around the
Malaysia country .There are a lot of people who join this “Save Malaysia, Stop
Lynas’ campaign by attending the rally, or by wearing green colour clothes
(official colour for people who join the campaign) or just a post message to
show that you are concern too. As a Malaysian, I showed my support through my
artwork too with the graffiti art movement.
In my
artwork, I used straight forward slogan “STOP LYNAS” to show a very clear
message to all. I used silver colour for ‘STOP’ to show more glowing and
contrast and red colour for ‘LYNAS’ word to show a sign of warning. For the
background, there is green colour to represent the supporter of this campaign.
I draw it slightly surround the ‘LYNAS’ word to show that we, the supporters
are everywhere and we care about this issue.
